This combination of seashells and garden elements will create a rustic coastal vibe to your outdoor space this summer for anyone who loves unique garden décor just follow my easy instructions below.

Materials Needed:

  • Seashells (collected from your favourite beach) in various sizes

  • Twine or fishing line (for stringing the shells)

  • A small branch or driftwood piece (as a top hanger).

  • Acrylic paint in soft coastal colours (e.g. seafoam green, sandy beige or pale blue.

  • Drill or sharp tool (to make holes in the shells)

  • Hot glue gun or craft glue

  • Optional: Small beads or sea glass for added texture, a metal ring or hoop for hanging.

:

  1. Prepare the Seashells: Clean the seashells with water and a mild soap to remove sand or debris, then let them dry completely.

  2. Paint the seashells (optional): Lightly paint some seashells in soft coastal colours to enhance their look, leaving others natural for contrast. Let Dry.

  3. Drill holes: Use a small drill bit or sharp tool(like hammer and nail) to carefully make a small hole at the top of each shell for stringing.

  4. String the Shells: Cut pieces of twine or fishing line (12-18 inches long).

Thread each piece through a shell's hole, tying a knot to secure it. Add beads or sea glass between shells for extra flair.

  5. Attach to branch: Tie the strings to the branch or driftwood , spacing them evenly (e.g. 5-7 strings). Vary the lengths for a cascading effect.

  6. Add a Hanger: Tie a loop of twine to both ends of the branch to create a hanger or attach a metal ring for hanging.

  7. Display: Hang the wind chime in your garden or on a porch to catch the breeze and create a soothing sound.
